Copy Candy supports the Santa Shoebox Project

Copy Candy has pledged to help the Santa Shoebox Project. This year the project has set a target of 70 000 boxes to go to underprivileged children from selected programmes and communities across South Africa.
As of this morning, 33 978 shoeboxes have been pledged, each containing a tube of toothpaste and a toothbrush, a bar of soap and a washcloth, an outfit of clothing, educational supplies, sweets and a toy.
You or your company has until the end of October to pledge your shoeboxes! Find out if there is a drop-off point in your area, pick your charity and then pick the kids you'd like to support. You'll be sent the personalised labels for your boxes, and then off to the shops with you! Find out more at www.santashoebox.co.za.
Meet the Harleys... with Copy Candy and Flint Studio

Copy Candy's newest social media and digital marketing collaboration with Flint Studio is hot this winter! We teamed up with the digital specialists on the Meet the Harleys campaign for Gold Rand Harley-Davidson.
Each family of Harley-Davidsons was given a personality, to help bike-lovers decide which Harley is their kind of ride. Up for grabs is a Harley-Davidson Sportster Iron and plenty of exclusive merchandise. This multi-platform campaign is designed to let Harley-Davidson fans, both the curious and the confirmed, know that there's a new dealership in town, at Gold Rand Harley-Davidson situated on the East Rand.
The campaign, featuring copywriting and concepts by Copy Candy, includes a microsite at MeettheHarleys.co.za, a Facebook fan page, a Twitter account, a Foursquare special, as well as banners and entry forms for on-site activations at night spots and shopping malls across the country.

Rate increase for 2011

From 1 March 2011, Copy Candy will be invoicing according to our new rate card for 2011. We'll skip over the "Our increase is in line with inflation" gobble-de-gook you get from your Insurance and Medical Aid every year, and simply say: this is the first time since 2006 that Copy Candy's rates have increased.

For the last couple of weeks, Stacey Vee and Michelle Randall have been writing articles for the About-South-Africa.com website. It's been quite an adventure, with our keyboards taking us from Cape Town to Johannesburg, from Sutherland and starry skies, to the Owl House and a close-up of Pinotage, and in exploration of our Blue Flag beaches and World Heritage sites.

So, much to the envy of everyone in Jo'burg, Michelle got hitched and moved to a beautiful farm in the Eastern Cape a couple of months ago. She's hooked up with the Cooked in Africa crew, and is writing a monthly blog for them called The Green Frontier - about the challenges of going green the old school way. Read her first post about the green farm kitchen, and her most recent post about saving water during the worst drought the Eastern Cape's had in 130 years!

It was 11 weeks of hard writing, across multiple brands - a beautiful website created by the geniuses at Mojo Interactive.
We're pleased to announce that our super secret project is now live and available for you to browse at www.foodcorp.co.za. Foodcorp is the third largest food company in South Africa, and has delicious brands like Yum Yum peanut butter, Ouma rusks and Nola mayonnaise in its pantry.
Copy Candy are extremely honoured to partner with MoJo Interactive on this large-scale project. Look out for the Foodcorp website, along with our other recent collaborations, in our portfolio showcase soon.

Check out our humorous masterpiece on the Ideaseed website, and our professional-yet-friendly advice on Cholestro Go's new online home (which just won Product Of The Year in the Oil category). We also had huge fun with the Inufa Furniture text, naming the various lounge and bedroom suites after cosmopolitan cities.

Yup, we're now whipping up the 'write' stuff cross-country! Stacey Vee is based in Johannesburg, and Michelle is just outside heavenly Kleinemonde in the Eastern Cape. Last year our projects covered Cape Town, Jozi, Sydney, Mauritius and London - neither timezone, nor coordinates were an obstacle to the many exciting collaborations Copy Candy had the pleasure of being part of.
We'd like to thank, in no particular order, Skype and The Blessed Internet, Freelancentral.co.za and a special mention to Michelle's extraordinary soetkoekies (yum!).

Due to the influx of gadget and tech writing, Morne Venter has joined the team to assist Copy Candy with keeping up to date with the latest, greatest must-have gear.
As many of the PR and Marketing professionals that Copy Candy deals with on a daily basis know (as we search high and low for awesome gadgets and gizmos), Morne has been assisting with this enormous task for quite some time now.
Morne is now officially Copy Candy's full-time TECH EDITOR, and will be ringing you up for hi-res images and an RRP soon!
